FSCs Concrete Cutting Collaborative

The three “C’s”, Concrete, cutting, and collaboration, all came together to usher in the success of our latest innovation, The Curb Shark. As anyone in the concrete business can tell you, cutting concrete is a labor-intensive process. They largely rely on high-quality equipment, heavy-duty saw blades, and the capability of the equipment to run at maximum speeds for lengthy periods of time in order to achieve the precise cuts necessary for each project.

Traditional concrete cutting equipment uses a 4-foot track system that requires constant modifications to correctly cut the curbing for residential driveways. When our client Oostburg Concrete Products (OCP) contacted us in search of a more effective solution, they were utilizing a malfunctioning machine that had never performed effectively. Our engineering and manufacturing teams started working with OCP to develop a truck-mounted machine with mechanized controls that could make a single precise cut. This machine would alleviate many of their daily equipment issues and maintain the strictest safety protocols.

The Curb Shark is Born 

With a truck-mounted saw, hydraulic motor, and a two-foot concrete blade that extends off the side of the vehicle, Curb Shark has become an FSC-patented technology. The Curb Shark, which is operated by a handheld remote control, combines technology with security. The operator won't need to manually adjust or control the blade to make a precise cut. Oostburg Concrete Products has quickly integrated Curb Shark into the field, and we are now able to manufacture and market this application to concrete industries all over the world. FSCs in-house service team is able to quickly and easily service the Curb Shark, with in-stock parts, quickly and efficiently.
